子供の時 or 子供の頃 ?
Is there a difference between 子供の時 and 子供の頃 ? I saw both these phrases used in the sense of "when I was a child", but are they interchangeable?

生まれも育ちも日本の私ですが、普段使うときには殆ど意識して使い分けてはいないです。
もし強いて違いを挙げるなら、時は瞬間的で短い時間の時も使うけど、頃はもう少し時間の幅がある時に使います。
例えば夕方の時とは言わないけど夕方頃とか2-3時間の幅があるときに使います。
when I was とか過去のことについて言うときは時間の幅があるのでどっちでも違和感がないです。

These two terms are almost the same, so you can say either way.
