もらう and 受ける
I was studying on AnkiDeck and it introduced うける as "to receive". I know it also other meanings as well, but I want to know if there's a difference between using 受ける and もらう when saying you received something?

受ける： you receive somthing from something/somewhere.
もらう：you recieve something good from someone or something regarded as someone （擬人化）
