Ich bin fröhlich = I'm happy (A state is described) Ich bin froh, dass = I'm glad that... (You have to add a subordinate clause) For example: I'm glad that you like my present. Or in German: Ich bin froh, dass dir mein Geschenk gefällt. Does that make sense to you?
