"Be to" means "be going to" here ? If you are to be your own trading coach and guide your reading development, we have to make you the best coach you can possibly be. In this sentence, what's the meaning of "are to " in the beginning? Does it means "are going to"?

"If you are to be" basically means "if you are going to be". Here, they don't use "going" because it's not technically needed. Breaking it down, YOU is the subject, and BE is the verb. "to be" is infinitive, so it's talking about this action without any tense context so they dont use "going."
