What do you like? is a standard question anyone would understand and anyone might say. What do you go for? is a bit more like slang and I would think would be more something a teenager or young adult might say. But they do both convey basically the same question.

what do you go for? is more open ended as in waiting for any random input you turn up at car sales trader: "what car do you go for"? this could be anything, like you could say red saloon, Honda Civic, petrol, automatic. "what car do you like?" this is sounds more of what one of these cars you like that you have seen
