Trip over some loose cash? In an American movie, a billionaire beat up some lowlifes, but they got him a little, too. The next day an old buddy of his (not that wealthy) pays him a visit and sarcastically says: "Hey, what happened to you? Trip over some loose cash?" Could you explain to me the meaning of "loose cash" in the given context?

Loose cash is just spare cash that you might find in your pocket - a small amount that you don't think or worry about too much. The friend is teasing him - if he is so rich, such an amount could be very big. Also, of course, a billionaire might play around so much with money that there would be loose cash spilt everywhere..

Loose cash with a billionaire could relatively be a good lump sum of money though . It is like sarcastically telling his friend that things went wrong for nothing .
