The triggered sentence, could you call this way a sentence they you have to rewrite? Is there an adjective to qualify a sentence that you have to rewrite ? To comment on it , for ex. In this exercise the triggered sentence is testing modal verbs -requires you to rewrite it using a modal verb . Could that make sense? Thank you

I don't believe "triggered" is the best adjective to use. Depending on how this requirement is shown, the sentence could be "marked" for rewriting, or could be called "incorrect." To communicate specifically that the sentence requires rewriting, there's no simpler way to say this than "requires rewriting".
