"Find a Teacher" will show you about 2000 English teachers. You can select teachers from a certain country, teachers who speak your first language, and so forth.

The forums are not too important. They are not a system for learning a language. italki is mostly a marketplace where students find teachers. The teachers give lessons over the Internet using videocalls. Each teacher is independent. They don't work for italki. They don't all use the same teaching system. Italki helps you find teachers, helps manage payments, and has a way to make appointments. It also has features that protect both you and the teacher.. You have to pay for the lesson in advance, so the teacher knows that the money for the lesson is already there. The teacher doesn't get paid by italki until you confirm that the lesson took place and was OK.

This is an open forum, so you are likely to receive answers and feedback from a number of teachers. If you would like to work with a single teacher, one-on-one, on Skype or another platform, like Face Time, you need to go through the various teacher profiles to find one you think you would like to receive tuition from.
