It has a long day,/ is this right? I was told "long,' can be used with hours but not with other words of time. Could we day: A long day Long years Etc Thank you

Yes, you can have long days, long years, long weeks, long months. It doesn't mean the time periods are actually longer, but they feel that way.

You can use it this way. Long years ago, It was a long day, It has been 5 long years etc or it has been a long time since we have met.
