A professional hit Hi, I think I heard on the first movie Beverly hills cop Axel Foley''s boss saying about a friend of the first who was a thief "your friend was a professional hit", is that possible? can "hit" mean just a con and not a murderer like from "hitman"? thank you

Hi, I saw the movie many years ago so I don't remember this scene, but in this context, "hit" usually means an assassination or hired murder. So he's probably saying that his friend's death was a job; someone paid someone to kill him. Hope that helps.

A "hit" is mafia jargon for an approved murder (approved by the gang boss, done by either a gang member or a professional "hitman").

Yep, the friend got killed but the boss was "scolding" Axel about his friend not being honest, but I'm not sure I heard every word.
