Are both sentences OK? (a crime etc.) We try hard so these things won't happen again. We do our best so these things won't happen again. And this; We do our best to prevent these sort of things from happening again.Or, they should be like these? We try hard so these things don't happen again. We do our best so these things don't happen again.

You will sometimes hear 'so' used that way in casual conversation, but it certainly isn't formal English. In formal contexts, use "We do our best to prevent this sort of thing from happening again." (note correcting 'this sort' or 'these sorts') or "We do our best to ensure these things won't happen again" Just changing 'so' to 'so that' in the first two would be better.

use "our best" not "are best"

we are doing are best to try to prevent these things from happening again. [present continuous: doing - for an action that is going on over a period of time, now] we try so hard to prevent them happening again, but still they do [happen again] [present simple: try - for a repeated action/habit]
