Kanji reading? I'm still a beginner, and i came across the kanji (方) which is read ほう (onyomi reading) although it's alone and is not in a compund word as in ( 地方 ) ( ちほう), so: - Is it common for some kanjis to be read by the onyomi -reading although being alone or it's limited for only few kanjis? - If it's common does it follow a specific rule so i can figure out when to read a single kanji by its kunyomi or onyomi reading?
