could you clarify grammar in one sentence? Hello all, Could you explain is this sentence right? 1) "What was the value of temperature?" or 2) "What the value of temperature was?" sentence #1 is it possible to use? is it the same as #2 ?I thought that sentence #1 is a subject question

I don't know what the context of this question is, but I'd leave out the 'value' part altogether. Sounds a bit strange, perhaps scientific to me. I'd phrase it as 'What was the temperature?' Your second option is incorrect, the word 'was' wouldn't go at the end of the sentence.
