What is the simple subject in the following two sentences, please? "Another animal with a strange name is the platypus." "One of the biggest moths in the world was named for Hercules, a mythological hero."

In both cases the subject is a noun phrase. In the first case it's 'another animal with a strange name' and in the second it's 'one of the biggest moths in the world'. Best wishes Steve
