Essentially, they are pretty much the same, it's just a matter of nuance. When you say "we should" it's more of a recommendation and the emphasis is on "us". While when you say "we are expected", it's more of a strong recommendation, like something bad will happen if we don't and the emphasis is on the other person waiting for us. no, obviously it is not the same! we're expected means somebody is waiting for us and so on...! and "should" is something between choice and rule.
