Sounds fine to me! A possible change, but in no way required, is that we often say "...you should always follow..."

I was going to say exactly what Ciara said, except that I learned it with the word "as," "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." It is a fairly common saying. In fact, it's so common that people will sometimes just say "When in Rome..."
