have I used the word "across" correctly? Hi friends, In the following sentence, have I used the word "across" correctly? Should it be "is continued" or "had been continued"? (context: this is a finding of an audit we carried out). " It was noted that the same contract number is continued across multiple contracts. " Thanks in advance, Niwantha

Yes you've used across correctly. What's the context? Both sound correct but depend on which tense the rest of your writing is. Current issue that is continuing to happen (is continued) or summarizing what happened (had been continued) Hope this helps

"Across" works well :-) As you have begun the sentence in a past form, your suggestion of "has been" would work well
