Can I say? 1 If something that moves so fast that it disappears before I can see what make it was. So can I say: - That was a man / woman, wasn't it? - That was a child, wasn't it? - That was a doctor, wasn't it? - That was a professional footballer, wasn't it? 2 If I don't know how is a chef, and then there is a person who came into a room, cooking a meal and then left/exited. So can I say after pointing to the door or in the direction of the person, that has gone by, "That was a chef, wasn't it?"

All are fine 1. ‘That was a man,wasn’t it? Suggests that although you did not see clearly you are still quite sure that it was a man, and you expect the person answering to confirm what you think. If you are less sure you might ask ‘Was that a man?

"That was..., wasn't it? " is correct. In these examples "that"="that person"
