"on the gimp"
From the movie "Gone in sixty seconds"
The character Autley says his former car atealing partner that he now works for a new boss and as a some kind of excuse he says this:
There weren't a lot of opportunities for retired car thieves on the gimp.
What "on the gimp" mean here?
Thanks
