"Hit sb with sth" means to tell someone something interesting, shocking, etc. My question is... "Hit sb with sth" means to tell someone something interesting, shocking, etc. My question is if I tell someone to "hit me", which in my mind is to ask him to tell me something new, not physically hit me. But will he misunderstand?

Context matters. If we're playing blackjack and I tell the dealer, "hit me!", he'll give me another card, not a punch to the face. If you just told me that I won't believe what you have to tell me, and I say, "hit me!", I expect you to tell me something, not physically assault me. But if you just walked up to someone in the street and said, "hit me!", well... you might get punched.
