How can I express this ? If the weather is very cold and i am going to warn my friend about his wearing .. how can I express this ..? Or is this expression correct ?

I think simply you can say: it's better to wear something thick/thicker, the weather is very cold outside/ or it's getting freezing outside. I don't know pretty much English but this is what I think weating for responses from English natives :)
