Do I need "is" in this sentence? Hi friends, Which is correct? with "is" or without "is"? 1) Find herewith the updated audit report for finalization. 2) Find herewith is the updated audit report for finalization. Thanks in advance! Niwantha

Your 1) is perfectly OK, as is Chris's corrected 2), they are equally acceptable. Mike is correct that 'herewith' is old-fashioned, instead I would use 'enclosed' in a letter or 'attached' in an email. To be super polite, I would begin 1) with 'Please'.

2) Herewith is the updated audit report for finalization.

The word “herewith” is not really used in the United States anymore. When sending an email or letter you would write as follows: An Email would be written like this: I have attached an updated copy of the Audit Report for your review and finalization. Or something like this for a letter: Please find enclosed a copy of the Audit Report for your review and finalization. Thanks Mike

'Herewith' is rather archaic. Are you sure you really want to use that?

#1. Or take out find and use #2.
