Yes, you're right. You did good job. When Koreans meet foreigners for the first time, they ask where they are from like "어느나라에서 오셨어요?". And then you can answer " 저는 인도사람이예요 " (I'm Indian. or I'm from India.)

The two sentences are correct. But they are used to describe a person, not a country. 인도 is India. 사람 is person 인도 사람 is a person from India. Likewise, 일본 사람 is a person from Japan, aka Japanese. 일본 사람이에요. Without context, it may mean "I'm Japanese".
