what are the common ways of describing certain pills in English ? I wonder if any of the following terms sound weird to a native speakers , please point them out and correct them for me plz ! " cold pills , sleeping pills , weight loss pills , pills that prevent motion sickness, pills that treat period cramps ." Are there any other common pills and how do you call them in English ? Thanks a lot !

An analgesic is a painkiller. An antihistamine is to prevent an allergic reaction. A muscle relaxant, a decongestant.... there are so many.

You can use all of those! Another way to describe types of medicine would be their category, like: antacid, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, sedative, etc. "I need an antacid, my stomach is killing me." "I can't sleep, I wish I had some kind of sedative."
