Are these sentences OK? There's a few minutes left of the game, and the score is 1 to 2. If I say, It appears that we have lost the game. It appears that we're losing the game. It appears that we're going to lose the game.

1 and 3 are OK. 2 sounds crazy: you are losing the game, no need to say 'it appears'. Usually I would use 'as if' to emphasise the conditionality of the statement. Also 'appears' is a very clinical, detached verb, it sounds as if you are trying to sound objective: do you not care? It looks as if we've lost the game!
