what the difference between would like and want? for Example I would like to know and I want to know. What is the difference?

They are the same meaning, but "I would like" sounds more polite or gentle.

"I would like" is the more polite version of "I want". It's exactly the same as the difference between "Je voudrais" and "Je veux" in French.
