Pass sb by Here's what I saw in a movie. A guy was negotiating with his boss and asking for a reason why his boss promoted his colleague over him. Here is what he says, " The first time you passed me by, I took it like a good soldier". I was wondering was he trying to say " The first time you didn't give me that promotion, I accepted it as best as I could" , is that correct ? Does " pass by" here means the same as "pass over"? Thanks!
