Slang for this term "When Jane walked in, Tom just took off." (Tom is upset seeing Jane) I want another phrase that means "took off because getting upset" but sounds very modern that people in the old days wouldn't say. I'm doing translation about a person from 2019 time traveling to 1650. I want this phrase to sound modern that people that period don't understand. Can you think of one? It doesn't have to be precise. But just a slang or something that teenagers these days say and elders don't understand. "When she walked in, Tim just............." Thank you.
