We mostly go with the tide because we are dreading that we will have a difference of opinion. But we must learn to overcome this fear and discuss our disagreements over different issues through developing effective communication skills.

I understand this fine, but would say going with the flow, rather than going with the tide. It is a far more common English expression.

Overall, really great! Just two tiny things I'd change:

We mostly go with the tide because we DREAD that we will have a difference of opinion. But we must learn to overcome this fear and discuss our disagreements over different issues BY developing effective communication skills.
