What does "I won't be a second"? I heard these when someone is leaving the group to grab something. - I won't be a second. - I won't be a minute. Does it mean I'll be back shortly, I won't be long? I have binged-watched a British TV show and heard this phrase a lot. Never heard it in USA shows. Is it used in British English? Thank you.
