Translation of this Russian sentence " правильно ли князь Владимир выбрал веру? " Does it mean "Did Prince Vladimir choose faith correctly?" (as in - did he make the right choice) or "Correct that prince Vladimir chose faith?" (Implying that it is disputed whether he made the choice or not).

Shaun, yes, it is the first one. The latter would be "верно ли, ЧТО(THAT) ...". Or "правильно ли, что...". But the word "правильно" leaves an ambiguity: "is it right to say..." or "it is right(proper/reasonable/good), that...". This ambiguity can be anbsent in context though:) "Верно" doesn't leave this ambiguity, it is just "correct" without extra shades of the word "right"..

The first one is correct.

The 1st one is correct. The 2nd option is translated as "правильно ли, что князь Владимир выбрал веру" (with "что")
