Is this sentence wrong? This is my sentence of a question: When I left home, it was raining. But the answer is: "It was raining when I left home". Is my answer wrong? Thank you in advance.

No, I would say that in practice these are interchangeable.

Thank you so much for your comments. But I am very sorry, I wrote a wrong word: rainy. I had to write "raining". Sorry.

Hello!! This phrase is talking about an action, that's why the answer is "raining". To indicate the action it needs to put ING at the end of the verb. However, you could reformulate your phrase to: "When I left home, the weather was rainy" Tks, Elaine
