What is "aan het" in Dutch? Is it an auxiliary verb? Is there something similar in English grammar to "aan het"?

It depends on the context, but in general "aan het"' means you are busy with something at that moment. For example: Ik ben aan het eten (I am eating) Ik ben aan het werk (I am working at this moment)

"aan het" before a verb in dutch is basically like adding -ing to a verb in english.
