Is there anything wrong with "a size 42 pants size" in the following sentence? After 150 days of a strict diet and lots of exercise, Peterson lost 92 pounds and shrunk from a size 42 pants size to a size 33.

Sentence is perfect.

Pants have two sizes: waist and length. "shrunk from a size 42 waist to a size 33" "went from a 42 inch pants size waist to a 33 "went from a 42 inch waist to a 33" "reduced his waistline from 42 to 33 inches" (to me this sounds best but doesn't reference pants size if that is important)
