It sounds quite good, however, the word "pile" can refer to a messy heap such as sand or leaves. It might be better to use the word, "stack" when talking about books. This word refers to a neat arrangement of books, one on top of the other. The kind of room that I imagine would have lots of interesting books "stacked from floor to ceiling". Hope this helps.

Yes that sounds perfectly natural and proper. It reminds of a Latin quote from Umberto Eco... "In omnibus requiem quaesivi, et nusquam inveni nisi in angulo cum libro." In all, I have sought peace and found it nowhere except in a corner with a book.
