Cut through...is this mean "deal with something that causes problem ?how to deal with prejudic?e Why are some people, sometimes at least, able to cut through their own prejudices and biases and motivations and just try to see the facts and the evidence as objectively as they can?

Imagine the prejudices that we may have, as an invisible but solid wall that surrounds us. The author is saying some people are able to cut/punch/push through this wall to reveal the true facts that lay beyond.
