How do the US public companies give the dividends? In the US stock market, is there any law, requirement or the articles of incorporation that the companies should give a dividend(in a mandatory ratio) to the investors if the company has made a profit during a certain accounting period? Is it possible that a company doesn’t give dividend even it has made large money, just like some Chinese public companies?

From a language point of view, a company gives a dividend, companies in general give dividends (not the dividends). I’m not aware of any companies being required to pay dividends to shareholders. It’s a choice.
