Sadly, there aren't any anymore. My favorite talk show personality was Tom Snyder. He used to tell little anecdotes and then interview a very wide range of interesting guests on his show in the 1970's called "Tomorrow", and then in the 1990's he had a show "The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder". You can find episodes on YouTube. (Mr. Snyder has a standard American midwest accent) Even though its an older program, you can learn a lot about American culture from it. Some of my favorite guests were Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury, Ayn Rand John Lydon and Alfred Hitchcock https://youtu.be/xiwAV6adyVU

What do you mean by "talk show"?

The show that gets the highest ratings today is "Dr. Phil." And while it may be considered a talk show, it isn't what was meant 20 years ago when someone used those terms. If you mean a single host, talking to people late at night - "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel" gets the highest ratings. But that is a mixture of comedy (which she said she didn't want) and interviews. The daytime interview-with-celebrities show that gets the highest ratings is "Live with Kelly and Ryan." "Ellen" has fewer watchers than any of those shows. It also has comedy.
