Increasing demands/ an increased demand/ increased demands/ an increase in demand Increasing demands for using water resources in different parts such as agriculture, energy, industrial, and drinkable water has always been one of the challenges of the recent century. Which one should I use here? Why? Thanks a lot in advance

the least appropriate version would be 'an increased demand' as this vaguely implies only one demand getting bigger - although it would still work perfectly well. I wouldn't write 'using water resources' - 'access to water resources' would sound better.
