emphasis These things I so regret in my life. Pride. Vanity. (I so regret these things in my life.) And at this point, anything I could do to make him happy, I was going to do. (I was going to do anything I could do to make him happy.) I just came across the above two sentences in a book. My doubt is, do you emphasize the object of a sentence by putting that part at the beginning of the whole sentence?

I don't think there is an easy answer to your question, especially without context. As far as your rewrite: I was going to do anything I could do to make him happy. (using the 2nd do is a little abnormal, but maybe more emphatic) I was going to do anything I could to make him happy. (more normal)
