Yes. You could say something like "The table is in contact with the wall." "The ball is now in contact with the water."

Although technically you can use "... is in contact with..." in regards to two objects, it isn't ever naturally used in my experience. It would be better to say two thing are "touching each other" or using more specific vocabulary such as "the table is up against the wall". The phrase "... is in contact with..." is most often used for referring to two people who are having ongoing communication about a project etc.
