Is this sentence grammatically correct? “ You is important “ I saw this in a movie named “ The Help”

No, it's not. Since that is a period film, that is say, set during a certain time in history, they were depicting the educational level of the character by purposely writing her lines with grammatical errors. Most people, even with less education nowadays, will correctly say either: You're important. OR You are important. You have to be careful when watching movies if you're trying to see correct grammar in use! ^.^b

No it's not correct at all. We hear it often in movies and even from people speaking here in the US. With that said, most of them did not do well in English lol. The correct way to say this would be: "You are important" I hope this helps, Jerry (Teacher)

No, it's not grammatically correct. "You are important" is correct. Some people don't speak perfect English.
