be allowed something "You're not allowed dogs here." I heard this in a movie. Does this sound natural? Shouldn't it be "You're not allowed [to have/bring/take] dogs here."?

"You're not allowed dogs here" is very normal in conversation. If I showed up at a 'no pet' motel with a dog, this is what I'd expect to hear.

You are right. "You are not allowed dogs here" is not very standard. You can get away with it in speech, but I wouldn't use it in writing
