What is the verb or phrase for getting the phone from off to on? Boot up and turn/switch on are off the top of my head, but not sure whether they are correct or not.

My preferences would be: Turn on Power on Boot up is much more technical. You would use that if you were talking about a problem in the processs.

Those are all correct, Ethan. For me it is more natural to say “turn on your phone”. You can also use “power on” or “power up”. These can be used for other electronics as well, like your computer :)

You can use both. Here are a couple of example sentences: "For some reason I can't get my phone to turn on and stay on." "My stupid phone keeps switching itself off. Guess I better buy a new phone soon."
