the cut of the hill I took in little details, things I hadn't noticed for all the times I'd visited (Morrie's house ). The cut of the hill. The stone facade of the house. What does 'the cut of the hill' mean?

The shape of the hill. It's appearance to him. Don't ever use this in normal conversation though, it's something someone would only ever very very very rarely say in a book to try to describe something. I've seen it used maybe three times in my whole life so far.
