"Don't bust my balls" - North American, vulgar slang. "Don't bust my chops" - Same meaning, not vulgar, but old fashioned. "Don't impede me" - Formal. "Don't stymie me" - Formal, old fashioned. "Don't hamstring me" - More casual. "Don't thwart my progress" - More formal.
