Yes. “My leg pains” is not correct because, as a verb, “to pain” is transitive and needs an object: so, “My leg pains me” would be correct. Still, using “pains” this way sounds old fashioned. The much better way to express the idea is “My leg hurts.” “To hurt” is intransitive so it does not need to be followed by an object.
