A prize would be given to everyone who <gets> <got> the right answer. Here is a sentence in the present/future tense: A prize will be given to everyone who gets the right answer. What should I change to be able to use "would" instead of "will"? 1. A prize would be given to everyone who gets the right answer. 2. A prize would be given to everyone who got the right answer. Notice what I've done to the "get." The sentences are still in the present/future, but because of "would," they are hypothetical. Which sentence is correct? If both are correct, do they mean the same thing?

It is fine with "will" in all of the sentences you made. A prize will be given to everyone who gets the right answer. perfect! 1. A prize will be given to everyone who gets the right answer. <-- gets the answer in the future 2. A prize will be given to everyone who got the right answer. <-- got the answer in the past
