Hello, in an American movie Attorney Kevin is celebrating his another victory in court at the bar in Florida when he's approached by a representative for a New York law firm.
Leamon: We want you to come to New York, help us pick a jury.
Kevin laughing: I tell you, man, you're pretty damn good. Your card is great. And the black thing, you being black... Whose idea was that? Paul's? That's just brilliant. I'm just not drunk enough yet to fall for it.
Yes, Leamon is black; however the sentence "And the black thing, you being black" (is it even a sentence at all?) just doesn't make much sense. What is "the black thing"? And would the correct sentence look like "The black thing is that you are black"?
