The movie, As Good As It Gets. "You're a disgrace to depression." I'm enjoying English in the movie, As Good As It Gets. When I don't understand the meaning, I always look up the dictionary and Google it, but still there are many phrases that I don't understand. Please help me with English. Thank you. Here is my question. This is very famous scene that Melvin ( Jack Nicholson) is insulting Nelly who is a gay artist. Melvin says, "You're a disgrace to depression." I know the meaning each word, but I don't get it what Melvin wants to say. Could you please explain with alternative words for me? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_jt10_GReQ

If you changed it to "you are a disgrace to depressed people" would that be clearer?
